Colonoscopy & Colorectal Cancer Screening

Colon cancer is the 4th most common type of cancer and the 3rd leading cause of cancer-related death in the U.S. Regular screening colonoscopies, beginning at age 45, are key to prevention and early intervention. Colon cancer typically develops from abnormal growths in the colon called polyps. If a complex polyp removal (polypectomy) is required, patients are often referred to another facility. Metrodora Institute’s specialists have deep expertise in removing routine colorectal polyps as well as performing complex polypectomies. Our approach to providing complete management of colorectal polyps streamlines the treatment experience for patients.

PROCEDURES OFFERED INCLUDE:

  • Diagnostic and Screening Colonoscopy
  • Surveillance Colonoscopy
    • For high-risk individuals, or those with a history of polyps or previously treated colon cancer

Medtronic’s GI Genius™, an AI-powered polyp detection system with high-definition imaging, increases polyp detection accuracy to improve patient outcomes. Metrodora Institute is the first medical center in the Salt Lake Valley to leverage this advanced AI technology for diagnostic and screening colonoscopies.

Medtronic’s GI Genius™

An AI-powered polyp detection system enabling our gastroenterologists to detect colorectal polyps through enhanced visualization during colonoscopy procedures.

The Barrx Radiofrequency Ablation System

Designed to precisely eradicate the Barrett’s epithelium for patients with low-grade dysplasia and reduce the relative risk of disease progression to high-grade dysplasia and esophageal adenocarcinoma.

The Endoflip™ Impedance Planimetry System

Provides a three-dimensional image of the esophageal lumen and the gastroesophageal junction during endoscopic procedures, including real-time measurements of the pressure and dimensions in the esophagus. This innovative technology helps identify the underlying cause of motility disorders, aiding in a faster and more accurate diagnosis.

FUJIFILM Optics
