Rohit Gupta

Chief Scientific Officer & Head of R&D

Rohit brings over 20 years of experience in the life sciences. From clinical research enterprises to his business acumen in medical commercialization, Rohit serves as an executive leader across both academia and industry sectors. His vision, strategies, and execution have led to models which drive healthcare innovation, advance clinical trial success, decentralize research, and accelerate precision medicine. Known as one of the world’s foremost biobanking experts, Rohit has pioneered methodology to rethink how we drive scientific discovery using biospecimens and data as the vehicle for novel clinical applications.

An active leader within the scientific community, he has twice served as the Chairman of the International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER) annual conference, is the Section Editor for “Emerging Markets and Technology” of the peer-reviewed journal, “Biobanking and Biopreservation,” and won multiple awards for leadership. Academia At Stanford, he was the principal architect behind the institution’s clinical trials and biobanking efforts, empowering researchers with novel tools, including a data platform to manage both clinical and biological ‘multi-omic’ information. Following his time at Stanford, Rohit rolled out a vision for the next-generation biobanking, enabling cutting-edge biomedical research and precision medicine across UCSF’s medical institute. Industry Rohit has spearheaded innovation, R&D, and business development efforts for several industry companies, most recently at Spectrum Solutions, where he drove a vision to improve access to healthcare through novel medical devices and laboratory diagnostics. Non-profit Rohit has served as a scientific advisor to several non-profit organizations, currently as the inaugural Chair for the Fight Cancer Global Scientific Advisory Board, where he is working to deploy clinical trial and biobanking infrastructure to underserved populations in Sub-Saharan Africa.
